Bolivia: Climate Justice Tribunal

In 2009, Bolivian civil society hosted an international tribunal at which climate change problems threatening indigenous people and human rights were presented.

With international press coverage and praise from Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, the successful tribunal was repeated in Bangkok during the UN meeting later that year.

Here, ‘witnesses’ from Bangladesh, the Philippines, Micronesia, Nepal, Thailand and Indonesia all gave evidence of climate change.
